The Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) has exported 23,000 tons of coal to South Africa.
The shipment, conducted on May 7, marked the first coal shipment of the group to the country this year.
Vincomin plans to export over 60,000 tons of coal from now to the end of May.
The exports are expected to help it increase sales and ensure stable exploitation and delivery of coal from mines in the Cam Pha area of northern Quang Ninh province.
The group sold 11.45 million tons of coal during the first quarter, up 1 per cent year-on-year. Revenue was estimated at over VND40.59 trillion ($1.71 billion), up 20 per cent.
