VIETNAMESE CONSUMER CONFIDENCE INDEX

INTAGE’s Vietnam Confidence Index is conducted on a monthly basis to measure Vietnamese people’s perceptions on current personal economic situation as well as their anticipation on future outcome of Vietnam’s macroeconomy. Essentially, consumers’ attitude and buying intentions can be somewhat projected through their confidence level: the more confident people feel about the stability of their incomes, the more likely they are to maintain, or increase, their spending patterns.

All indicators of our economic state projected through outlooks of Vietnamese living in metropolitan areas suggest a steady re-growth after a period of economic downturn because of current pandemic. Especially, perceptions on future macroeconomic and household SEC experienced a huge positive leap, while views on individual situation has a more minor change. This could signify a recondition in our economy, and a rise in consumer price index is expected.
