The Ba Na-Suoi Mo tourist complex developed by leading Vietnamese developer Sun Group will see its total investment increase to VND39 trillion ($1.66 billion) from the initial VND8 trillion.

Under an amended investment registration certificate recently granted by the municipal Department of Planning and Investment, upgrades will be made to the French Village, Fantasy Park and Ba Na by Night resort in the complex, also named Sun World Ba Na Hills.

The cable car routes, stations, slides, beer garden, entertainment and multi-purpose performance area, castle zone, San Francisco street, and restaurants will also be renovated.

At the foot of Ba Na mountain, investment in the Suoi Mo eco-tourism area will include cable car routes and stations, a model of Trinh Temple, yards, and public facilities.

The project was first given an investment license by the city’s People’s Committee on May 8, 2008. The adjustment aims to upgrade a number of areas to meet the city’s development requirements and visitors’ needs, as well as harmonize the landscape with architecture, serving the development of biodiversity in the Ba Na-Nui Chua ecological area.

The Ba Na-Suoi Mo eco-tourism area was officially launched in 2009 with the Ba Na-Suoi Mo single-track cable car system, which has won Guinness World Records for the longest non-stop single track cable car in the world (5,042.62 meters) and the highest altitude difference between departure and destination (1,291.81 meters).

From 2009 to 2018, the number of visitors to Danang soared 463%, with those to Ba Na Hills increasing over 160 times. Currently, the complex is one of the important driving forces for the city’s tourism sector and post-pandemic economy.

Around 20 kilometers from downtown Danang, Sun World Ba Na Hills is one of the most popular resort and recreational complexes in Vietnam. It has been honored as Asia’s Leading Theme Park in the past.

At 1,487 meters above sea level, the complex has been coined “heaven on earth”, owing to its spectacular climate and otherworldly natural landscape.
